DAVID ARCHULETA'S VOICE IS FREAKING AWESOME.
(its only his voice, marie)
AND
I
AM
ADDICTED
TO
SHOP AROUND.
even michelle and megan are sick of it,
manda isnt :D
even mrs nath watches American Idol!
she gave sharon one of her looks when sharon said
"i dint know you were that hip"
!
the nath is absolutely amusing.
after chantel markered
"I'M HAVING MENSES"
on my thigh and i was like trying #$%*-ing hard to rub it off in class,
nath went
"jolyne, why are you showing off your thighs? (whatthecrap!)" [horrified expression]
"chantel bay of two loyalty went to use a marker to write I'M HAVING MENSES on it"
"WHY DID YOU LET HER WRITE SUCH A THING ON YOUR BODY! DINT I TELL YOU YOUR BODY IS PRECIOUS!"
"urrr. (screams TA MA DE! in my head at the black one)"
"-continues- NO ONE CAN TOUCH YOUR BODY!"
omgzsxshshszhzhxhxzs.
then i realised that i can just use water to wash it off.
then we went to the redcrosshome.
was feeling pretty lousy seeing all those people lying there, deprived of the freedom to be like normal people, faced with all these difficulties that we dont experience yet we complain with the so little problems that we have.
its life, and we have to look deeper and not take for granted what we have.
these people there really served as a reminder for me to cherish whatever skills i have.
/yet, we really had a lot of fun putting a smile on the residents' faces, with our singing and dancing and chatting.
they really loved the dikir barat we did for them (:
on thursday we had this really inspiring talk by this really great man, Dr William Tan.
he is undeniably, certainly the greatest man i have ever known.
he is disabled, he cant walk, he is diagnosed with polio at age two.
yet he had come so far, being a neuroscientist, a doctor, a ultramarathoner, a inspiration, and a oxford and harvard graduate.
he never gave up, he worked so hard for his dream, and it came true.
yet he never forgot the less advantaged people, he used his arms, his expense of his job and money, to raise funds for charity by going for marathons,
and he broke the world record for being the only disabled person to marathon in 7 continents, including antartica.
he never saw his disabilty, he made use of what he has, he adapted to his life,
and he achieved it,
and he raised 14 million in all for charity.
this makes me think, i am normal, perfectly normal, and what have i done to help the world?
would i ever be as determined as Dr William Tan?
it threw the whole truth right at my face-i'm selfish.
i'm normal, and what have i done to help?
instead, i complain about the things i cannot do.
while he, used his two callused hands to shape his future.
as i shook his hand,
i am shaking hands with the greatest man i have ever known, and i am so, so proud of it.
i am going to start shaping my life.
Thank you, Dr William Tan,
thanks for showing me how to lead my life.
